In many rural schools across Western Kenya, adolescent girls face significant barriers to education due to the lack of sanitary supplies and supportive mentorship. The "poverty of dignity" causes frequent absenteeism, loss of confidence, and heightened dropout risks. Through CESUD's School Dignity Initiative: - Dedicated CESUD mentors sit down in safe, interactive circle sessions with schoolgirls to discuss reproductive health, hygiene management, and self-confidence. - Girls receive comprehensive dignity kits containing sanitary towels, soaps, and personal care essentials. - Mentors address social stigma, build peer support networks, and provide one-on-one psychosocial guidance to help students stay focused on their academic ambitions. Restoring dignity in the classroom enables young women to unlock their potential, lead in their schools, and build brighter futures.
